30 Years for Belgian E Importer
A Cambodian woman was sentenced to 30 years in prison and fined 40 million riel over a drug importation case.
Yich Charnavy, president of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court’s Trial Chamber, handed down the verdict to Chit Sethan, a 30-year-old Cambodian woman, for illegally transporting drugs under Article 40 Of the Law on Drug Control.
The Ministry of Interior’s internal security department detained the suspect on 23 April 2018 at the post office in Wat Phnom, Khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh. Police detained the accused while she was waiting to receive the 3,400 grams of MDMA pills sent from Belgium to Cambodia via the post office of Cambodia.
