Minor Accident Leads to Major Drugs Haul

Sihanoukville:  At 3:50 am on the 21st of February, 2019, there was a traffic accident incident on National Road 4 between 157-158 km. Monorom Village, Tak Commune, Prey Nop District, Preah Sihanouk Province.

Three Chinese people in a car travelling towards Phnom Penh had a small crash with another car, which drove off. The men were seen taking a bag and hiding in a nearby field before running away.

After the incident, police came to the scene, and began searching for the men. They discovered the bag, which on inspection contained 8 large bags of methamphetamine.

Police then searched for suspects in the coconut plantations until 8:30 am, the same day, and found one Chinese man. He was taken to the police station of Prey Nup District to proceed with the legal procedure. Two others remain on the run.
