13 Chinese Held in Siem Reap Gambling Case
Siem Reap: A crackdown on illegal online gambling in central Siem Reap saw 13 Chinese suspects arrested at 15:00 on June 13, 2019, at Krousar Village, Svay Dangkum, Siem Reap, Siem Reap Province.
The provincial military police detained 13 suspects, including two women.
Police say that this was an unlawful gambling case (gambling on the Internet) and took away exhibits including six laptops (Lenovo 02, Asus 02, HP 01, Dell 01), 29 mobile phones (Iphone 06, Oppo 07, Huawei 05, Vivo 06, Samsung 02, Hono 01, Mi 01, Jionee) Chargers and computer chargers, 7 booklets, 2 suitcases, 4 passports. The group confessed to being an online gambling crew.
On June 15, 2019, 13 suspects and demonstrators were transferred to Siem Reap Provincial Court for legal action.
