Chinese Woman Falls To Death In Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh: A Chinese woman fell from a high-rise building and died immediately at the scene.

UPDATE: The victim was identified as WANG WENWEN, female, 29 years old, Chinese, living in Yue Thai Building, Room D25.03, 25th floor.

According to the police report, before committing suicide, the woman went down the elevator to get a bag of medicine from the E-gets online delivery company, then went to a nearby mall to buy a bottle of beer and went up to the 39th floor. After walking for about two laps, she sat down, drank beer and smoked, and then jumped.

According to the conclusion of the doctor at the Phnom Penh Municipal Court and the Technical and Scientific Police Office of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police that the victim committed suicide. The body is currently being kept at Stung Meanchey pagoda to wait for relatives.

The incident took place at 4 pm on January 3, 2022, between De Prince Plaza and Yeak Thai Building along Norodom Boulevard in Tonle Bassac, Chamkarmon, Phnom Penh.

According to sources, at the time of the incident, the Chinese woman fell from the building and landed on the ground, causing her sudden death. The specialized police force of the Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Interior arrived at the scene to search for the cause.

After the incident, the authorities searched and autopsied the body , but could not yet confirm whether the victim jumped to commit suicide or murder. NKD
