Prius Takes On Divider Streetlight (& More Sunday Traffic Roundup)

 

Case One: Phnom Penh: A woman driving a Prius along National Road 6 suddenly swerved onto a grassy divider and crashed into a light pole, causing severe damage. The driver panicked and ran away from the scene.

After the incident, the local authorities arrived to inspect and found that the car caused damage to public property, so they contacted the Road Traffic Section of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police to come down and take the car away, waiting for a solution later. CRN

Case Two: Phnom Penh: On the night of August 29, 2021, a Toyota Hilux crashed along Street 1008 in Sangkat Toul Sangke II, Khan Russey Keo, Phnom Penh.

Prior to the incident, a witness saw a white Hilux police car with license plate 2.0148, driven by a man traveling along Route 1008 in a north-south direction at high speed. The car swerved to the right and hit a light pole, causing it to collapse to the ground, while the car suffered extensive frontal damage. (Driver details unknown)

Case Three: A Honda Dream motorcycle exploded into flames at 11:15 pm on August 28, 2021 along Street 271 in Sansom Kosal Village 4 Sangkat Boeung Tumpun I, Khan Meanchey.

According to the owner of the house, before the incident, they prepared to store materials and motorcycles inside and lock up before going to sleep. Then he heard an explosion, and when he ran downstairs, he saw the flames coming from the Honda Dream motorcycle. People dragged the motorbike outside and used extinguishers to put out the blaze. The fire did not spread and nobody was injured.

Case Four: Phnom Penh: On August 29 , a traffic accident occurred after a Chinese driver collided with a taxi. The two parties failed to negotiate and led to a fierce quarrel.

Witnesses revealed that at 10:45 that evening, a Chinese driver was suddenly hit by an oncoming taxi when he was driving near NagaWorld Casino, causing damage to the left door of the Chinese driver’s car.

After the incident, the two parties quarreled due to unsuccessful negotiation. Later, the local police rushed to the scene to investigate and at the same time hoisted the two vehicles to the police station for handling in accordance with the law.
