UPDATE: Multiple Gunshots Reported In Chroy Changvar

Phnom Penh:   On the afternoon of August 19, 2021, there were several explosions along National Road 6 in Sangkat Prek Leap, Khan Chroy Changva, Phnom Penh.

The shooting was reported at 14.15 and the reason has not yet been made public.

The first photographs from the scene show several bullet casings of different calibers. Updates expected soon.

UPDATE: The police force of the Anti-Drug Department (A7) of the General Commission of the National Police cracked down on drug trafficking, firing 7 shots and arrested two suspects and drug evidence.

The operation took place at 2 pm on August 19, 2021 at the Heng Leap Guesthouse traffic light along National Road 6A in Sangkat Prek Leap, Khan Chroy Changva, Phnom Penh.

According to local sources, before the incident, cars and motorbikes were seen traveling along Street 6A in a south-to-north direction, intending to leave Phnom Penh. At the traffic light, police in uniform and civilian clothes stormed the road and fired seven shots, but no one was injured in the operation. EDIT: Later reports say the police were fired upon first.

After the operation, the car left the scene immediately. The local police arrived at the scene and confirmed that it was the operation of the Anti-Drug Department.
