Foreign Man Dies Outside Larry’s, 110

Phnom Penh: (Preliminary information) At 12 noon on August 9, 2021, a foreigner died while sitting on a chair outside Larry’s on Street 110, Sangkat Phsar Kandal I, Khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh.

Police have arrived at the scene, closing it off and are currently conducting an investigation.

According to sources from the scene, in the foreign man was seen eating at the business every day, and at about 9 o’clock he was sitting down to eat as usual. Suddenly feeling unwell he called for help, and a tuk tuk was called, but unfortunately the man died in the chair. This was reported to the local authorities to come down to the scene.

After the incident, local authorities arrived and surrounded the scene and contacted the Ministry of Health to check a sample, which was negative for COVID- 19, and the body was given to the forensic section of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police to perform an autopsy.

Update: The deceased has been unofficially named as Tony Byrne .
