COVID Cases Rise Again- 730 Reported

Phnom Penh: The MoH issued the daily press release on the morning of 2 May 2021, confirming the discovery of 730 new positive cases of COVID-19 and 169cases that were treated and the patients discharged.

Of the new cases, all were linked to what is still known as the Feb. 20 community outbreak- 1 was an imported case from Thailand. This brings the total from the local outbreak to around 13,967 (sources vary slightly).

Case numbers were: Phnom Penh: 454, Sihanoukville:124, Kandal: 107, Kampong Thom: 14, Takeo: 11, Prey Veng: 6, Tbong Khmum: 5, Kampong Cham: 4, Siem Reap: 2, Kampot: 1, Steung Treng: 1, Pursat: 1

This brings the total number of cases to 14,520, with 5,369 cases treated. There are currently 9,040 active cases and 103 deaths have been reported.

A new informative table has now been released, showing cases in each province.
