Kampot Body In River: Train Not Murder

Kampot: On May 1, 2021, people spotted the floating body of a young man near a bridge in Teuk Chhou. The body had suffered serious injuries and wounds. Technical and forensic experts concluded that the death was due to a train hitting him, and caused the man to fall into water at night.

The victim was named as Em Nhanh, 23 years old, residing in Prek Ampil village, Koh Touch commune, Teuk Chhou district, Kampot province. At 8:30 a.m. on May 1, police received a report from residents that they had found the body of a young man floating near the Prek Tnaot bridge in Prek Tnaot village, Prek Tnaot commune, with suspicion of murder. 

Receiving this information, the Teuk Chhou District Inspectorate in cooperation with the technical officers of the Kampot Provincial Commissioner went to the location to search for the truth. Mr. Sou Bunthoeun continued that by matching the marks on the body and the words of the villagers, the competent experts concluded that the death of the victim was caused by a train colliding, causing him to fall into the water and drown. He stated that this is not a murder case.
