262 New COVID Cases Reported

 

Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Health issued the daily press release on the morning of 16 April 2021, confirming the discovery of 262 new cases of COVID-19. 74 cases were treated and the patients discharged.

Of the new cases, all were linked to what is still known as the Feb. 20 community outbreak . This brings the total from the local outbreak to around 4937 (sources vary slightly).

Case numbers were: 232 in Phnom Penh, 2 in Kampong Cham, 1 in Kampong Speu, 1 in Kampong Thom, 4 in Kandal, 2 in Prey Veng, 2 in Pursat, 2 in Siem Reap, 2 in Takeo. 1 in Svay Rieng, 1 in Tbong Khmum 1 and 12 in Sihanoukville.

The total case number now stands at around 5480 (sources vary) and 3044 active cases. A total of 38 deaths have been reported.
