UPDATE: More Provinces Ban Alcohol Sales
Provincial authorities are following the lead set by Phnom Penh and banning alcohol sales from immediate effect:
Prey Veng, Preah Sihanouk and Kampong Cham have now placed booze bans. Others are likely to follow suit, and the chances of a nationwide prohibition are very high.
UPDATE: Takeo has joined the list of dry provinces. An announcement has been made from Kampot, which has been verified.
The bans cover the sale of all alcoholic drinks in all businesses, and will be in place until April 28.
