According to the Kouk Romiet Commune Administration Post, the victim, Dan Soth, was a 50-year-old man living in Kork Prech Village, Kouk Romiet Commune, Thmor Puok District, Banteay Meanchey Province- a widower living alone who had a daughter who went to work in Thailand.
According to the neighbors, on March 14, 2021, the victim was not seen leaving the house as usual. Because the victim was addicted to alcohol and drank regularly, at 3:30 pm on March 15, 2021, neighbors went to look inside the house, and found him with his head in the water and his feet off the ground.
Kouk Romiet Commune Administration Police Station confirmed that after receiving the information, the Police Technical and Scientific Force cooperated with the doctor to examine the body and found no traces related to a crime. The victim was suspected of entering the bathroom in a state of intoxication and fell headfirst into the water, causing him to drown in the pool.
