Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Health issued the daily press release on the morning of 16 March 2021, confirming the discovery of 105 new cases of COVID-19. 88 cases were treated and the patients discharged.
Of the new cases, all 105 were linked to Feb. 20 community event. This brings the total from the local outbreak to around 915 (sources vary).
The cases include: 35 Cambodians, 50 Chinese, 11 Vietnamese, 8 Thais and 1 Malaysian. The locations found were: Phnom Penh 29, Kandal 64, Sihanoukville 8, Koh Kong 3 and Prey Veng 1.
As of March 15, 2021, a total of 1,430 cases have been discovered, of which 818 have been treated. 609 active cases are being treated. There has been 1 confirmed death from COVID. 1 death from a drug overdose in hospital and another from heart disease during treatment.
8,842 tests were conducted, with 153k since outbreak began. 598,001 tests in total.
