Chinese Man, 27, Dies In Sihanoukville

Sihanoukville: A Chinese man died while undergoing medical treatment in Sihanoukville on the afternoon of March 14, 2021, according to a press release from Preah Sihanouk Provincial Administration.

A preliminary assessment by a medical specialist showed that the man had chronic pancreatitis and pneumonia, as well as high blood sugar levels.

The Sihanoukville Provincial Administration said that the 27-year-old Chinese man was named RAO SHAOXING, who arrived in Cambodia on December 30, 2020 at the Sihanoukville International Airport.

On February 26, 2021, he was quarantined in Room 918 in the dormitory of a casino staff in Village 2, Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville, Sihanoukville Province. On the night of March 13, 2021 at 20:42, the man was very tired and weak and was sent to the Sihanoukville Provincial Referral Hospital.

Seeing that the man’s condition was getting worse, the doctors prepared to send him to Phnom Penh for treatment, but due to the man’s poor health, he died on March 14, 2021 at Sihanoukville Provincial Referral Hospital.

The body is currently being kept at the Sihanoukville Provincial Referral Hospital and samples are being analyzed at the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge.
