Multiple Dead & Injured In Kampong Thom Crash
Kampong Thom: 5 people were reportedly killed on the spot and 10 others seriously injured after a truck collided with a minibuse traveling in the opposite direction. This horrific traffic accident happened at 5:25 pm on March 3, 2021 along Street 6 (between Kampong Thmor Market) in Toul Sangke Village, Kampong Thmor Commune, Santuk District, Kampong Thom Province.
Police said on March 4 that before the incident, the minibus was seen traveling from south to north. A dumper truck was traveling at high speed from north to south in the opposite direction. At the scene, the truck swerved and collided head-on with the minibus.
The victims were named as:
1. The driver of the sedan, Tech Chanveasna, male, 43 years old, from Veal village, Sankor commune. Kampong Svay, Kampong Thom Province.
2. The driver of the truck, Khuong Sran, male, 25 years old, from Sralao Tong village, Balang commune, Baray district, Kampong Thom province.
3. Met Sieng Loun, 31 years old, from Veal village, Sankor commune, Kampong Svay district, Kampong Thom province. The man was planning to get married on Sunday. March 7 . All three died at the scene.
4- A 1-year-old child and 5- Another girl. who died after being taken to Santuk Baray Referral Hospital.
The seriously injured, 10 men, women, described as both old and young, were taken to Kampong Thom Provincial Hospital and some to Phnom Penh. Most of the 10 seriously injured suffered broken legs, broken thighs and broken ankles. The identities of those seriously injured are not yet known.
