EDIT: ‘Chinese’ Man Falls To Death In Phnom Penh

CLARIFICATION:

Phnom Penh: A man who jumped to his death from the 10th floor of a building at noon on February 20, 2021, near the traffic light of Phsar Dei Huy flyover along North Bridge, at the corner of Boulevard of the Russian Federation, has now been identified as a Cambodian.

Authorities say the man who committed suicide was Un Thondy, 34 years old, a Cambodian from Trong Moan Village, Sangkat O Bek Kam, Khan Sen Sok, Phnom Penh.

Police said that on the morning of February 22, 2021, the wife and her siblings traveled to the crematorium of Wat Teuk Thla to receive her husband’s body for a traditional cremation this afternoon and confirmed his identity to authorities.

Regarding the above suicide, the family said, the man had a mental illness since about 10 years ago, following a car accident. 

The man jumped to his death from the 10th floor of the Archite Maternity and Obstetrics and Gynecology building and he was initially suspected to be Chinese, but after two days of searching by phone, he was identified as “Cambodian.” 

Phnom Penh: (Preliminary information) At 12:47 on February 20, 2021, a Chinese man died after falling from a building, causing his death near Dei Huy Market in Sangkat Teuk Thla, Khan Sen Sok, Phnom Penh.

The circumstances are not yet known. Police are at the scene to investigate. POST NEWS

UPDATE: According to sources at the scene, before the incident, they saw a Chinese man in his 30s, wearing shorts and a T-shirt, who crawled from the building for a while. Then, he suddenly jumped down, causing his sudden death.

After the incident, local authorities arrived at the scene and reported to the forensic experts to check the scene.
