MoH Clarifies ‘Vaccination Death’ Facebook Story

Social media has been awash with news that a teacher in Kratie province died after receiving the COVID 19 vaccination- which the Ministry of Health have dismissed as false information. A spokesman for the Ministry of Health clarified that the teacher died of meningitis, and had not been given the vaccine.

In addition, the Office of Education, Youth and Sports of Chhnoul district also confirmed the death of the teacher. In the letter requesting leave the deceased, Chhorn Nary, a teacher at Hun Sen High School, asked for 16 days off from February 1 to February 16, 2021, for medical treatment.

At the same time, Calmette Hospital also confirmed that Chhorn Nary did indeed receive treatment at the hospital.

O Vandin, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health, dismissed the reports that the teacher had died after being vaccinated.

“The Ministry of Health completely rejects the publication of this fabricated information…… the dead teacher had severe meningitis after doctors could not save her.”

According to a spokesman for the Ministry of Health, so far the ministry has not vaccinated any teachers. KPT
