Man On Drugs Steals Tacoma In Siem Reap

Siem Reap: A man was arrested by Siem Reap police after stealing the car of an electrician. The arrest took place on the evening of February 16 yesterday in Thlok Andong village, Slor Kram commune, Siem Reap city.

The suspect, Phou Vuthy, 28, a car mechanic, currently lives in Thlok Andong village, Sangkat Slor Kram, Siem Reap city.

The incident occurred on February 16, 2021 at 2 pm in front of a store selling spare in Thlok Andong village, Slor Kram commune, Siem Reap city.

Deputy Commissioner for Criminal Affairs, Brigadier General Pheng Chendareth, confirmed that the victim, Chhay Rattanak, male, 21, from Pechor Village, Kralanh Commune, Kralanh District, Siem Reap Province was driving a 2005 Toyota Tacoma with license plate Siem Reap 2C-1975. He stopped to buy car parts without removing the key from the car and walked into the store. The suspect immediately got into the car and drove off along National Road 6. The owner of the car called a motodup and chased after his car. The car stopped about 300 meters to the entrance to Wat Tram Neak in Thlok Andong village, Slor Kram commune, Siem Reap city. The authorities then came to intervene.

The suspect could not answer police questions, and appeared to be out of his mind on drugs. A drug test of his urine later came back with a positive result. Currently, the authorities are building a case to be sent to the court to follow legal procedures. SRP
