Young Bride-To-Be Killed By Drunk Driver Days Before Wedding
Phnom Penh: According to relatives, a young woman killed by a speeding car was be married in less than 10 days. Before the incident, the victim left home in order to meet her fiancé, but unfortunately died on the road.
The woman lost her life and another man suffered minor injuries while riding a motorcycle, after they were hit hit by a drunk man, who was truing to escape another minor accident at 8:00 pm on Saturday, January 23 2021, in front of Borey Peng Huoth, Street 217 in Sangkat Stung Meanchey II, Khan Meanchey, Phnom Penh.
The victim, Lim Srey Heng, 28 years old, was from Sangkat Dangkor, Khan Dangkor, Phnom Penh.
The Alphard car with license plate Phnom Penh 2BJ-2004, driven by Kuong Sithon, male, 41 years old, a taxi driver, living in Sangkat Stung Meanchey I, Khan Meanchey, Phnom Penh. He was arrested at the scene. Two other cars were damaged; a Mazda and a Camry.
The Alphard was seen driving along Route 217 from south to north at speed. When it arrived in front of Wat Sambo Meas, it collided with a Mazda car and tried to escape, hitting the Camry. Then it collided with two motorcycles, killing the woman at the scene and causing a man to suffer a broken arm and leg.
Experts came down to measure and take the vehicles to be stored at the traffic office waiting to be resolved later. The victim was taken by the family for a traditional ceremony at the house in Borey Piphop Thmey, Chamkar Dong. AREY
