COVID-19: New Cases From Thailand & USA

Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Health on the morning of January 24, 2021 issued a press release confirming the discovery of two new cases of COVID-19

1. A 57-year-old Cambodian woman from Sangkat Choam Chao IV, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh, a passenger from the United States via South Korea to Cambodia on January 10, 2021. The second test result of this woman was positive, and the patient is currently being treated at Chak Angre Health Center in Phnom Penh.

2. A 26-year-old Cambodian man, living in Sleng village, Sranol commune, Kralanh district, Siem Reap province, traveled from Thailand to Cambodia on January 15, 2021. He is currently being treated at Banteay Meanchey Provincial Referral Hospital.

Two other patients were released from hospital.

1. A 43-year-old Indonesian man who arrived in Cambodia from Singapore on December 25, 2020. 

2: A 34-year-old Cambodian man from in Preah Sdach District, Prey Veng Province, traveled from Thailand to Cambodia on January 15, 2021 and was released from Banteay Meanchey Provincial Referral Hospital.

As of January 24, 2021, Cambodia has found a total of 458 cases, of which 405 have been treated and 53 remain hospitalized.
