Phnom Penh: On the morning of January 4, 2021, a large group of Food Panda motorbike transport service workers gathered to protest on the road before marching to protest in front Delivery Hero (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. (Food Panda) located in Building 88 in Village 7, Sangkat Toul Svay Prey II, Khan Boeung Keng Kang, Phnom Penh.
After the protest, there was a meeting between the representatives of the protesters and the representatives of Food Panda Company under the coordination of Boeung Keng Kang District Authority, Sangkat Tuol Svay Prey II, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training. As of the evening of January 4, Food Panda has agreed to the 10 demands of more than 300 motorbike delivery service providers.
The 10 agreed principles include: 1. The original brokerage fee as determined by the company 2. Extra delivery time 3. Provide a contact phone number when the rider has a problem 4. When there is a problem with price adjustment, please inform in advance 5. Must have a Rider union representative 6. Edit system problems 7. Please locate the store correctly 8. Ask the company to facilitate the map across the river and the road 10. Please resolve as soon as possible.
Food Panda delivery service providers say that initially, all employees receive a one-time commission of $ 0.70, the original price set by the company. But by 2020, the company had reduced it to $ 0.60. The carriers then demanded that the company increase the commission price to the original price. But later, the company continued to discount only $ 0.50 per commission.
However, after this protest, Food Panda agreed to keep the shipping cost of $ 0.70 (back to the original). The protesters will return to work in their respective shifts from January 5, 2021. SWIFT
Drivers had made a similar protest back in June
