Tropical Storm Brings Chills To Cambodia

 

Phnom Penh: A pressure system in the South China Sea, south-east of Ho Chi Minh City, has developed into the 23rd typhoon of the year (KROVANH), and is moving west through southern Vietnam, pushing very cold weather at night on December 21-22, especially in the north-central lowlands.

The 23rd storm, will bring rain out at the sea and Mekong delta in Vietnam, but it is not expected to rain in Cambodia. In some areas like Pursat province, the temperature may drop to 15 degrees at midnight on December 21.

The mountains and lowlands in the northwest on the night of December 21 and 22, may see temperatures as low as 16 to 17 degrees Celsius at midnight on December 21. In Phnom Penh, the cold weather is expected to last until 8 am on December 21before it starts to rise again.

The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology announced on December 15 that for December 21-22, the minimum temperature will be 18-21 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature will be 25-. 28 degrees Celsius. RASMEI
