Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Health issued a press release on the morning of December 21, 2020, confirming the discovery of one new case of COVID-19 on a passenger from the United States. There have been no further cases related to the November 28 community outbreak.
The latest patient is a 55-year-old Cambodian-American woman staying at a hotel in Phnom Penh, traveling from the United States on a flight via Taiwan to Cambodia on the 20th December 2020.
There were 44 patients on the plane, including the woman. Forty-three passengers with negative test results are now under observation for 14 days -36 in hotels in Phnom Penh and 7 at Borey 100 High School.
A total of 363 cases have been found in Cambodia, of which 345 have been treated and 18 people are currently hospitalized.
