Thief Beaten After Attempted Funeral Robbery

Kampong Cham Province: A man was allegedly caught stealing during a 7 day funeral ceremony, and when the property owner found out, he started beating the suspect until h confesses. The ceremony was being held in Chrey Vien village, Chrey Vien commune, Prey Chhor district, Kampong Cham province. 

The victim, Nuon Ratana, male, 32 years old, the owner of the house, said that at 2:40 AM on November 29, 2020, in his house where the funeral was being held, there was a suspect named Sok Komsat, a 36-year-old man, who snuck in and stole two mobile phones (one black iPhone 6 Plus and one black and blue Vivo) while he was asleep. But th owner woke up and started shouting for help until the suspect became violent and was beaten in self-defense until he was handed over to the police for legal action.

The suspects confessed to the crime, and will be sent to court. NKD
