Seven New Cases Of COVID-19 Confirmed

Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Health on November 29, 2020, issued an official press release regarding the discovery of seven new COVID-19 cases, including six members of the family of Mr. Chhem Savuth, Director General of Prisons and another passenger flying in from the United States.

Along with the Director and his wife, a 36-year-old woman, a 12-year-old boy, a 36-year-old and a 30-year-old man living together were also discovered.

The cases are considered as a local outbreak, the source of which is unknown, and several high-ranking members of the government who have come into contact with the infected people, along with many others are now urged to isolate.

The other case was a 33-year-old Cambodian-American woman who arrived in Cambodia on November 27 with 56 others on the same flight.

On November 29, the Ministry of Health also announced the treatment of two patients; a Cambodian man traveling from the United States and the other a bodyguard to the Hungarian delegation in outbreak on November 3, 2020.

Cambodia has now detected 315 cases, of which 301 have been treated.
