White Male Fished From Kampot River

Kampot: A foreign male died at 12 noon on March 1, 2020, in Village 1, Sangkat Kampong Kandal, Kampot Province. The foreigner reported to be around 40 years old, was initially reported as drowning after jumping from the bridge of Prek Kampot.

After the incident, people and authorities immediately launched a rescue boat recover the victim.

UPDATE: A witness from the scene says the man (a Russian, named Nikolai Smirnov) was given CPR and taken to hospital, where he apparently recovered.

UPDATE 2: After leaving hospital it is understood he made another suicide attempt and this time was successful.
