Cracks In Battambang’s Old Bridge

Battambang: A notice was released by Battambang Provincial Administration prohibiting people from crossing the old stone bridge across the Sangke river, after damage was reported from the underside of the structure.

The bridge has been closed to motor vehicles for several years, but is a popular place for a stroll in the city.

UPDATE: According to SWIFT NEWS, the bridge, which was built in 1916, as damaged by heavy vehicles during the wars. It is unlikely it can be repaired.
