Plug Pulled On Controversial Kampot Lighting

Kampot: Responding to criticism about lighting at the Durian roundabout the Central City team decided to unplug the lights after three nights of testing.

On the night of December 8, 2019, the Durian in the center of Kampot town had decorative lights removed, in response to the criticism. People expressed their appreciation they were gone, and the fruit statue is back to normal.

Technicians put up the lights and conducted tests from December 5-7, 2019. The lights appearing in blue, red and white to represent the flag proved unpopular, causing a change of plan. RASMEI
