Poipet To Ban All Gas Sales Within City

Poipet: City authorities will shut down gas and gas retail sales in town to ensure public order, public safety, and prevent fire.

The governor of Poipet City, said on November 26, 2019: that citizens who run fuel businesses and sell gas in Poipet town, must move outside the city. The city administration will take legal action against businesses who continue to sell gas and LPG from 1 January 2020.

These new locations outside the city limits must also be authorized before opening.

The measure comes after a car accident turned into a huge fire at a gas station on October 14, 2019, National Road 5. Two people were killed and vehicles destroyed. RASMEI
