Woman And Baby Saved From Suicide Attempt

Phnom Penh: A woman suspected of being a drug user took her 9 day old baby to the river and prepared to jump in.

This incident occurred at 6 pm on the 25th of November, 2019 along the riverfront in Toul Sangke 1, Russey Keo district.

The 24 year old went to the water and threatened to throw the baby in if people came to stop her. Locals managed to calm the situation and talk her into coming back to land, and reported to local law enforcement to intervene.

After the incident, the authorities and the commune chief summoned the mother to talk and decided to hand the infant to a social worker in Russey Keo district to be taken care of. KBN
