2100 Smuggled Chickens Seized

Oddar Meanchey: More than 2,000 live chickens suspecting of being diseased were taken by authorities in Banteay Ampil district, Oddar Meanchey province.

Hun Sarath, deputy director of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries’ Department of Animal Health and Production, told reporters that the birds were seized on November 16, 2019, after the Royal Gendarmerie intercepted a truck carrying 2100 chickens smuggled across the border from Thailand.

He added that Governor has issued measures to prevent the import of all kinds of unauthorized goods across the border.

The poultry smugglers were detained and the birds taken to the Department of Animal Health for further legal action. SWIFT NEWS
