Protesting Pursat Factory Workers Block Road 5

Pursat –  On the afternoon of October 12, 2019, many garment workers from Tai Yizi garment factory in Krakor district, protested and blocked National Road 5, demanding better pay and conditions (*plus, if translation is correct, 1 kg of rice per month).

At 3 pm Pursat governor Mao Thonin came to intervene and mediate the issue. The first step was to ask the workers to leave the road so not to futher disrupt the traffic.

By 3:30 pm, all workers had agreed to disperse, and a meeting was scheduled for October 18, 2019. AREY NEWS
