Iran Hammer Cambodia 14:0

Tehran: Cambodia’s hopes of qualifying for either the 2022 FIFA World Cup or the 2023 AFC Cup are all but over after an historic first leg in Iran.

The Angkor Warriors were humiliated as Iran found the back of the net 14 times, with Cambodia failing to score. Keo Sokpheng missed a penalty at 47 minutes.

This appears to one of the biggest victories in international football although way behind Australia’s 31:0 drubbing of American Samoa in 2001.

Meanwhile, the match got attention as, for the first time in the Islamic Republic’s history, women were allowed to attend, with over 3,000 in the stands.
