Two Arrested On Human Trafficking To China Charges

Phnom Penh: On September 26, 2019 at 15:00, the Anti-Human Trafficking and Juvenile Protection Bureau together with district police and the court prosecutor arrested 2 suspects.

Pong Vanny, A 25-year-old Cambodian woman and Pich Pheaktra, a 19-year-old male were held at the Bakheng Police Station, National Road 6A, Sangkat Bakheng, Chroy Changva District, on charges of trafficking people (*as yet not made public) from Cambodia to China. One of the victims is reported to be a Khmer woman (*this could be another brides to China case or related to surrogacy, not yet clear).

Currently, the authorities are conducting inquiries and filing cases according to the procedure. POST NEWS
