Battambang Mudslide Survivor Found Over Border

Battambang: UPDATE: Chang Koy, 25, has been found and taken back to Cambodia and to hospital.

Reports from a source in the Army 5th Brigade say that a Cambodian missing since being hit by a flash flood in Samlot on September 16th has been found alive across the border by Thai troops.

According to a military official, the victim was still alive but suffered some injuries. However, he did not confirm the identity or the extent of the injuries.

The victim was found in Thai territory about two kilometers from the Cambodian border. Information was slow to reach the Thai side of the border, so the information was received late. The victim had been brought to the hospital.

The source said that the search for the victims involved Khmer and Thai military, and their families. PPR
