Pursat River Reaching Emergency Levels

Pursat: The water level of Pursat river has been rising at an alarming rate.

In order to prepare for now expected flooding in Pursat province, the Department of Water Resources and Meteorology, informed that after monitoring the overall weather conditions, there has been further rainfall from the Cardamom Mountains, leading to high water levels downstream.

The effects are expect to cause even more rise on the Pursat river and cause flooding in Pursat province between 2-3.00 pm on September 18, 2019.

The Provincial Department of Water Resources and Meteorology would like to inform all municipal, district, and commune authorities and people in Pursat province, especially residents of the Pursat and Stung rivers, to pay careful attention to avoid any potential accidents and be ready to evacuate if needed.
