Heavy Rains Forecast As Flood Preparations Ordered

Phnom Penh: From the beginning of next week, there will be heavy rainfall across the country, which could cause some provinces, especially Phnom Penh, Kandal, Kampong Speu, Takeo, Prey Veng, Svay Rieng, Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham, Tbong Khmum and coastal provinces.

This is according to a forecast from the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology announced on September 13, 2019, while royal decree No 9, dated September 10, 2019, has instructed the relevant institutions to proceed with the flood preparation measures.

A Low Pressure System (ITCZ), which has stretched across Thailand, Laos and Vietnam, has moved towards Cambodia and is expected to have effects in the next 2-3 days.
