105 Chinese Arrested in Online Gambling ‘University’

The Department of Immigration’s Investigation and Procedures Office detained 105 Chinese nationals in connection with illegal online gambling.

The raid took place on the afternoon of 9 September 2019 at a 9-storey “Excelpolitan University” building on the corner of Russian Federation BLVD, Sen Sok district, Phnom Penh.

The police arrested 105 Chinese nationals , including 10 women, and confiscated 80 desktop computers The site is reported to have been falsely branded as a university to fool the authorities.

The Chinese nationals were sent to the Department of Investigation and Proceedings for legal action, while the building has been temporarily closed. TDNEWS
