366 Chinese Rounded Up In Bavet

Svay Rieng: Police from the Immigration Department in collaboration with the Svay Rieng Provincial Police on the night of August 21, 2019 inspected and detained over 350 Chinese nationals staying in an eight-story building located in Bavet Kandal village, Bavet town, Svay Rieng province.

Twenty-seven Chinese nationals had no legal documents, and were also on a wanted list in China.

The Chinese nationals with warrants were detained and sent to the Immigration Department for questioning and follow-up procedures. A total of 339 Chinese nationals whose names were not included on the Chinese authorities’ list were allowed one week to produce the correct documents to allow them to work legally.
