Battambang – The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology has issued a preliminary notification on August 10, 2019, warning residents who live on the banks of the Sangker River that the river level will rise following heavy rainfall upstream in Samlot.
The Ministry confirmed that heavy rainfall upstream along the Samlot-Thai border caused the water in the multi-purpose reservoir to rise (*presumably the dam in Ratanak Mondul district’s Plov Meas commune), so will open the sluices to ease the water situation, which will raise the levels in Battambang town.
