Kampot Buildings Must Be Repaired

Kampuchea: The provincial administration requires the owners of colonial style buildings to repair and renovate.

At a recent meeting on the beauty of the city, Cheav Tay, governor of Kampot province, said some of the buildings of the French colonial period in Kampot are extremely fragile and extremely dangerous. Therefore, municipal authorities and relevant officials need to advise homeowners to move out for a while and start repairing to avoid accidents or injuries.

In connection with the above case, Mr. Born Samnang, head of Kampot’s Land Registry, confirmed that he faced difficulties, and the authorities have repeatedly advised owners to vacate and start repairing.

These buildings are a legacy left after the French occupation, considered to be a construction heritage, which require maintaining and restoration. Rasmei
