Mondulkiri Officials On The Run After Arrest Order

Mondolkiri: After a national commission found clear evidence of illegal logging in Kaoh Nheaek district, three forestry officers have been issued with arrest orders by the prosecutor.

1- Mr. Leung Phirun, 55, of Prey Chhor District, Kampong Cham Province.
2- Mr. Hun Vannary, 50, the Forestry Administration Chief, from Bati District, Takeo Province.
3- Mr. Kong Vireak, 46, the director of Forestry Administration of Kaoh Nheaek District, living in Sangkat Steung Meanchey.

Sources said the three officers would have been aware of the arrest orders, and fled. All three are now in hiding.
