Military Officer Arrested After Major Theft

Phnom Penh: A man working for a security firm at a garment factory, reportedly a lieutenant with The Ministry of Interior, was arrested by Sen Sok police at 5 am on 19 July 2019, over charges of the theft of $ 2 million* dollars.

The suspect, Eam Sam Ong (or An), male, was born in 1982 and is a military officer from Khan Sen Sok, Phnom Penh.

$ 250,000 from a reportedly missing US $ 2.4 million has been recovered, along with a handgun.
