Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Interior issued a statement on granting the right to inspect construction sites that require a fire prevention and fire fighting plan.
The decision authorizes the General Department of National Police and the provincial / municipal police commission to issue a temporary halt to any part of the construction which does not meet the conditions and measures to prevent and combat fire or to not provide a system of prevention specified by technical institutions that the Ministry of the Interior acknowledges.
The decision also specified punishments and suspensions of construction permits for unsafe buildings.
