British Woman Accuses Kampot Tuk Tuk Of Attempted Rape

 

Kampot: A British woman accused a tuk-tuk driver of attempting to rape her.

The complaint was filed on the afternoon of July 17, 2019, to police in Kampot province from British citizen. KATHRYN R*, 29.

She claimed that at around 2 pm on July 16, 2019, a tuk-tuk driver drove her to a quiet place, then attempted to rape her at near Chum Krola Village, Chum Chiril Commune, Toek Chhou District, Kampot Province.

The British woman’s complaint confirmed that the suspect forced himself on her. But then the woman said that she became upset and slapped the suspect before escaping.

The victim also confirmed that she had wanted the tuk-tuk driver to take her to her rented house, but he took a detour.

After the complaint, the police searched for the man to question him about the accusations. On the evening of July 17, police the driver, Mat Hasa, 34, was taken in by the police.

The suspect confessed to having a foreign woman but did not attempt to rape her, and the accusations are totally distorted.

The case was then sent to the provincial court to decide what charges are to be pressed.
