Sihanoukville: On the morning of July 11, 2019, Sihanoukville Customs and Excise Department and Royal Gendarmerie Force of the Royal Gendarmerie Force 402 Preah Sihanouk Provincial Gendarmerie followed a court warrant to check 2 Chinese owned generator sales warehouses on National Rd 4 in Sangkat 1.
As a result of the operation, police found more than 60 generators with no import tax filings and no customs clearance papers.
The machines were taken away until the owners can show tax files and proper documentation, otherwise they will be liable to pay for the duty on top of a penalty.
