Monks Injured in PP Acid Attack

Phnom Penh: Two monks from Wat Than were injured in an acid attacks carried out by unknown men.

The attack on the monks occurred at 1:50 pm on July 2, 2019, along Norodom Boulevard in Sangkat Tonle Bassac, Chamkarmon.

The monks aged 21 and 22 were injured on the head, neck and chest.

According to a source four monks were travelling in a tuk-tuk from the pagoda in order to study at Preah Suramarit High School, when suddenly two suspects riding a motorcycle threw acid at them. The other two were unharmed because of acid hit the side of the tuk tuk.

Police are now checking CCTV. Kohsantepheap
