African Swine Fever Hits Tbong Khmum

Tbong Khmum: African swine fever has broken out in two villages in O’Reang Ov district, Tbong Khmum province, after the disease occurred on Cambodian territory in Rattanakiri province in March. 2019.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, on July 2, 2019, the Ministry identified two locations and ordered the General Department of Animal Health and Animal Production to take urgent measures:


Destroy all types of pigs in the epidemic area, ban on buying, selling and transporting pigs, pork and pork products of all kinds within 3 km from the center of the disease site and place this area under close monitoring.

Surveillance of pig movement, pork and poultry products regularly in a 10-kilometer radius from the outbreak point.


Meanwhile, the ministry has confirmed that the disease does not infect humans, but the disease causes death in 100% of pigs, which causes serious loss to livestock.

The epidemic has been erupting in Vietnam and Vietnamese authorities have killed millions of pigs.
