Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology issued a weather notification for Cambodia from today to July 8, 2019.
A combination of a low pressure system from the north (Thailand, Laos and Vietnam), a storm in the South China Sea and the strong southwest monsoon will bring heavy rains and high winds.
Such features make:
1: The water of the Mekong will rise slightly.
2: The coastal provinces of Koh Kong and Preah Sihanouk will see very high waves (*may affect tourist boats).
3: Provinces in the northeast and neighboring Vietnam will see heavy rains
4: The provinces in the northwestern regions will have less rainfall.
5: The provinces of Kampong Speu, Kandal, Takeo, Kampot and Phnom Penh may see moderate rainfall.
6: Thunderstorms, lightning and high winds will hit across the country.
The Ministry of Water Resources has called on the public to continue to be vigilant and avoid any negative phenomena.
