Storm Warnings for the Week

 

Phnom Penh: The  Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology issued a weather notification for Cambodia from today to July 8, 2019.

A combination of a low pressure system from the north (Thailand, Laos and Vietnam), a storm in the South China Sea and the strong southwest monsoon will bring heavy rains and high winds.

Such features make:

1: The  water of the Mekong will rise slightly. 
2:  The coastal provinces of Koh Kong and Preah Sihanouk will see very high waves (*may affect tourist boats).
3:  Provinces in the northeast and neighboring Vietnam will see heavy rains
4:  The provinces in the northwestern regions will have less rainfall.
5:  The provinces of Kampong Speu, Kandal, Takeo, Kampot and Phnom Penh may see moderate rainfall.
6:  Thunderstorms, lightning and high winds will hit across the country.

The Ministry of Water Resources has called on the public to continue to be vigilant and avoid any negative phenomena.
