New Pest Destroys Thousands of Hectares of Crops

At least 11,142 hectares of corn crops were damaged by the fall armyworm In four provinces in Cambodia as of June 11, according to a Ministry of Agriculture press release on June 14.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture experts, the results suggest that there is a new species of worm in Cambodia that are spreading across crops, especially corn crops, while Cambodia has hot weather.

According to the Banteay Meanchey Department’s report, the largest crop crop loss was 4,715 hectares in the province, in Battambang- 3,033 hectares, Pailin-2544 hectares, and 850 hectares in Tbong Khmum.

In response to this, the Ministry of Agriculture has assigned officials to encourage people, especially farmers, to cooperate in preventing and fighting the worms in time.

The species of worms are considered to be the main pests of South America. It can consume more than 80 varieties of plants and plants, and corn is a favorite crop.

As early as 2016, this new strain spread to Central Africa, West Africa and spread to South Africa. In 2018, the new strain has spread and destroyed maize crops in Africa and spread to India, China, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand, Myanmar and Laos.

តាមការចុះតាមដានពីមន្រ្តីជំនាញរបស់ក្រសួងកសិកម្ម លទ្ធផលបង្ហាញថា ពិតជាមានវត្តមានដង្កូវហ្វូងប្រភេទថ្មី កំពុងរាតត្បាតបំផ្លាញដំណាំ ពិសេសដំណាំពោតយ៉ាងលឿន ស្របពេលដែលកម្ពុជាកំពុងមានអាកាសធាតុក្តៅ។

បើតាមសេចក្តីប្រកាសរបស់ក្រសួង ខេត្តបន្ទាយមានជ័យរងការខូចខាតដំណាំពោតច្រើនជាងគេ មានរហូតទៅដល់ ៤ ៧១៥ហិកតា ខេត្តបាត់ដំបង ៣ ០៣៣ ហិកតា ខេត្តប៉ៃលិន ២ ៥៤៤ហិកតា និងខេត្តត្បូងឃ្មុំចំនួន ៨៥០ហិកតា។

ជាការឆ្លើយតបនូវបញ្ហាចំពោះមុខនេះ ក្រសួងកសិកម្ម បានចាត់ឱ្យមន្រ្តីពាក់ព័ន្ធរៀបចំវិធានការទប់ស្កាត់ ស្រាវជ្រាវ អង្កេតពីកម្រិតបំផ្លាញរបស់ដង្កូវហ្វូងប្រភេទថ្មី និងជំរុញវិធានការការពារតាមរាជធានីខេត្តទាំងអស់។

មន្រ្តីពាក់ព័ន្ធត្រូវជំរុញដល់ប្រជាពលរដ្ឋ ពិសេសប្រជាកសិករ ត្រូវសហការដើម្បីទប់ស្កាត់ និងកម្ចាត់ដង្កូវហ្វូងឱ្យបានទាន់ពេលវេលា។

ដង្កូវហ្វូងប្រភេទថ្មីនេះ ត្រូវបានចាត់ទុកជាសត្វល្អិតចង្រៃចម្បង មានដើមកំណើតនៅទ្វីបអាមេរិកខាងត្បូង។ វាអាចស៊ីបំផ្លាញលើដំណាំ និងរុក្ខជាតិជាង ៨០ប្រភេទ ហើយពោតជាដំណាំដែលដង្វូវប្រភេទនេះចូលចិត្ត។

នៅដើមឆ្នាំ ២០១៦ ដង្កូវប្រភេទថ្មីនេះ បានឆ្លងរាលដាលទៅអាហ្រ្វិកកណ្តាល អាហ្វ្រិកខាងលិច និងបានរាលដាលឆ្លងទៅអាហ្វ្រិកខាងត្បូង។ នៅឆ្នាំ២០១៨ថ្មីៗនេះ ដង្កូវហ្វូងប្រភេទថ្មីនេះ បានរាតត្បាត និងបំផ្លាញដំណាំពោតស្ទើរតែគ្រប់ទីកន្លែងទាំងអស់នៅទ្វីអាហ្វ្រិក និងបានឆ្លងរាលដាលមកដល់ប្រទេសឥណ្ឌា ចិន ស្រីលង្កា បង់ក្លាដេស ថៃ មីយ៉ាន់ម៉ា និងប្រទេសឡាវ៕
